Microsoft has seen the departure of its first chief operating officer for Xbox. According to an internal communication, Helen Chiang is leaving the company effective immediately.
Chiang's tenure in the COO position was brief, lasting only a few months after the role was established. Prior to this executive appointment, she spent 21 years at Microsoft, where she most recently held the position of head of Minecraft.
What it means
The exit marks a sudden transition for the Xbox leadership structure, as the organization loses a veteran executive who had climbed the ranks over two decades to reach the newly created operational lead role.
