Meta has released open-source code designed to let developers build custom physical hardware gadgets powered by the company's new Muse AI agent. The decision allows independent creators and software engineers to construct personalized devices that run the artificial intelligence software directly.

To demonstrate potential applications, Meta highlighted several hardware implementations for the code. One suggested project involves loading the Muse AI agent onto a color E Ink display, creating a dedicated visual unit for displaying reminders. Another implementation includes integrating the assistant onto an HDMI stick, allowing users to project and interact with Muse on larger screens and monitors.

What it means

By making the software publicly available, Meta is opening up possibilities for specialized AI hardware beyond traditional phone or desktop interfaces. Providing open access to the codebase allows developers to experiment with distinct form factors, custom displays, and dedicated home or office utility devices powered by the Muse assistant.
