Security researchers at Norforge have identified a new trend in cyberattacks where hackers deploy fleets of AI agents to infiltrate web systems. Unlike traditional manual hacking, these agents were able to operate largely on their own to gain access to targets.

While Norforge did not publicly list the affected entities, reports indicate that the breach impacted a wide range of organizations. Notable victims among the more than 100 compromised sites include SharkNinja, Cummins, and John Deere.

What it means

The incident highlights a growing concern regarding the role of artificial intelligence in cybersecurity. The ability for AI to automate the process of finding and exploiting vulnerabilities allows attackers to scale their efforts far more rapidly than previously possible.
