SpaceXAI, the division previously operating as xAI, has introduced an early beta preview of Grok Bot. The new system aims to push artificial intelligence beyond standard conversational chat interfaces toward persistent software agents capable of performing multi-step corporate tasks across existing web platforms and desktop software.
Rather than manually querying an AI assistant for individual tasks, users can configure persistent digital workers dedicated to distinct operational roles. These bots receive access credentials for various workplace applications, allowing them to log in and interact with software tools in much the same manner as human employees. Because each agent operates within its own isolated computing environment, assigned workflows continue running without interruption, even if a user closes their laptop or disconnects from the internet. The software acts autonomously, pausing to request human authorization when necessary and returning to report final results once an assignment is finished.
The technology was originally developed as an internal prototype to automate everyday workloads across SpaceXAI. Internal teams quickly deployed specialized agents across multiple departments, using them to execute outbound sales programs, manage digital marketing campaigns, streamline office administration, and patch software bugs.
